#3 learn to knit (just for the challenge)

Ever since its last spotlight, I have been lurking via my main account ([info]ecsluver) on [info]novice_knitters. Forever ago, when I first joined the comm, in fact, I use to know how to knit (re: cast on). I know how to crochet and embroider and cross stich and all of those types of "femine arts," but I just cannot knit. Consequently, I took the initiative today, joined [info]novice_knitters, and posted, asking for help.

Now I just need someone to reply.

See the post here.

More Wishes

Awhile back, a friend and felt the need to start a support group type-thing in the county/area for preachers' kids and missionaries' kids. Yesterday afternoon, we had our first meeting up at the park. Because I know that the people who attended are stressed often about being a preacher's kid, I had everyone work on their own Twenty Wish List. At the same time, I added to mine.

9. paintballing (why not?)
10. start running again (get in the game)
11. trash can rolling (preferably at midninight)
12. play with the youth group band (make music)
13. carve my name into a tree (lasting all of eternity. or the next park renevation)
14. learn to shoot a gun (because I have a second amendment)

Now to add them to the masterlist.

From 1 June, 2009, till 19 August, 2009, I participated in a program I made up on my own called Eighty Books in Eighty Days and blogged about it ([info]80books_80days). A friend of mine picked up on it also, and we had several discussion on what counts as a "book".

One of my favorite books I read was Twenty Wishes by Debbie McCormick. In Twenty Wishes, the main characters all made a list containing twenty things they wanted to do. Not a bucket list (things you do before you die) or a to-do list, but a wish list.

Recently, it came to my attention that I am constantly doing things for others. Great—I love helping people. But at the same time, it would be nice if people would say “thank you” sometimes. I know, however, that in today’s modern world, this only happens occasionally.

Consequently, I am making my own wish list. They are things that I want to do just for kicks. There is no deadline, and I do not expect all of them to happen. But if they do, that would be awesome.

Welcome to my Twenty Wish List.
